Queens Park Environmental Education Centre

Description:

Just like the TV show, you get to work with your team and against the clock as you navigate through the Environmental Centre and the adjoining park in order to fulfil creative and physical challenges. Participants will use their surroundings as inspiration when creating their artworks including 3D objects, drawings and clay creations. There are prizes for all the participants!

This 90 minute workshop is presented with Ipswich City Council as a part of Kids Go Wild school holiday program.

This program is for children aged prep to year seven.

Description:

Get moving with a big discovery walk to collect items such as leaves and twigs to create textures on clay. Then get potting in a physical way by using your hands, feet elbows or ears as mounds to make your own clay pots. Decorate using the items collected during your walk.

This workshop is presented in conjunction with Brisbane City Council’s Active Parks program, and is recommended for children of all ages.

Description:

Use cane, cable ties, translucent paper and fluorescent glow in the dark paints to create a unique creature of the deep that will glow brightly in the dark. Get active with a long walk around the perimeter of the park on dusk with your glowing creation.

This workshop is for children aged five and up.

Bazil Grumble Makedo Animation Workshops will allow participants to work collaboratively on a Makedo creation from recycled materials with moving parts. The creation will then be animated through stop motion animation using the latest industry standard software. When filming is complete, the animation can then be immediately played back much to the delight of the audience who feel a sense of wonder at seeing their ideas come to life on screen!
