Playing Up! Drama for Children

This workshop explores creative ways for educators to introduce drama into the OSHC setting for children aged from prep to year seven.  Participants will learn about a diverse array of interactive games and activities that will allow children to use their imagination, while building confidence and communication skills.

Puppets Galore

In this workshop, participants will explore creative ways to incorporate puppetry into an OSHC setting in an accessible and affordable manner. Participants will have the opportunity to make a diverse array of different styles of puppets which they can then teach the children in their care to make simply and easily. The workshop will also cover the strategies for creating puppet plays with children of all ages.

Get Creative with Clay

In this Bazil Grumble workshop, participants will use a variety of forming techniques to create unique hand built forms. Educators will utilise decorative techniques such as paddling, stretching and stamping,  using a diverse array of found materials and eco-objects to achieve surprising textural effects.  This is a hands-on workshop which will engage participants and provide them with ideas, concepts and skills to pass onto the children in an OSHC setting.

How to Use the Voice when Speaking with Children

In this workshop, participants will explore a multitude of different approaches and techniques when speaking to children in an OSHC setting.  Such areas that are covered include posture and body language, pitch, tone and the environment. We’ll also look at how the voice of staff can contribute to the type of behaviour expressed by children in an OSHC setting and examine through role play how to use language more effectively with children of all ages.
