The Bazil Grumble team is so excited to soon start teaching our Semester 1 drama classes. We have been very busy writing lesson plans, continuing our training and thinking on how best to adapt Roald Dahl’s classic story Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We cannot wait to guide and support students as they use their imagination to explore the marvellous and mysterious world and its many zany characters.

You may have read previously that Bazil Grumble is now moving towards a new format for drama classes and two end of term performances will be held every year. In term one, students will focus on developing skills in many areas of speech, drama and public speaking. Our lesson plans will focus on clear and effective speech, how to use pace, pause, emphasis, intonation and enunciation, as well as posture, breathing and stage presence. Students will be encouraged to achieve their very best in our supportive class environment. They will enjoy the various drama games and activities that make learning incredibly fun! In term 2 we will then work on using the presentation skills developed to polish our Charlie and the Chocolate Factory performance to share with and audience of family and friends at the end of the term.

WHY JOIN DRAMA CLASSES?

  • Does your child love performing?
  • Do you want your child to have a clear and expressive voice for their school presentations?
  • Are you looking for an activity for your child that is both fun and educational, while inspiring imaginative thinking and teamwork?

Bazil Grumble drama lessons provide a great range of different drama games and activities which aim to improve our students’ confidence, communication and presentation skills, group interaction skills, improvisation skills, and imagination. The classes are a great deal of fun and allow the students to meet new people and develop new friendships. Classes incorporate students from various year levels and the teacher ensures that every child is consistently engaged in the activities, and challenged at a level appropriate to their age.
