Firstly, we are very excited to announce that our performance for Semester 1 2019 will be an adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic story Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!

After much consultation with parents and our teaching staff, we have made the decision to move towards a semester curriculum. The semester curriculum will allow us to spend terms one and three of the school year focusing on teaching the students new dramatic techniques as well as extending their current knowledge and skills. Then in terms two and four, we will focus solely on producing a polished performance for friends and family. We believe that this new structure will allow our students to develop their skills in many areas of speech, drama and public speaking and also reduce the pressure that some children may feel when needing to learn lines and remember blocking, gesture and movement every single term. We are very much looking forward to seeing greater progress in our student’s skill development as a result of this new approach. It is such a joy to observe how children express themselves through theatre!

We understand you may have a number of questions and we are constantly trying to improve our services! Therefore, feel free to email admin@bazilgrumble.com.au if you have any questions or comments regarding the new structure for drama classes.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR REGISTERING STUDENTS?

Students will still be registered per term for drama class and you are not required to register for the whole semester. We will be structuring the lesson plans that regardless of when students join the drama class (at the start of the semester or half-way through), they will be consistently engaged in the activities and challenged at a level appropriate to their skills. Registrations and more information can be found on our website here.

A reminder that places are limited so we encourage you to register now to secure your child’s place for Term 1, 2019!
