Before we launch into term 4 drama classes, our teaching staff having been reflecting on term 3. Teachers commented that their students became more confident both in developing their stage voice and working as a team. Students have enjoyed the opportunity to explore dramatic role play and improvisation. These are very important building blocks in the process of developing dramatic techniques, and indeed many of these skills are transferable to real life situations.
“The class is an absolute joy to teach. The students are committed to improvement and have each set goals for themselves that are manageable and measurable. Having a term with a focus on skills development before we launch into Aladdin rehearsals has been extremely beneficial.” Miss Fiona, St John’s Masterclass
“We always check-in at the beginning of the lesson and the students have the opportunity to rate how they feel from one to ten to give me a better understanding of how students are feeling. One day a student asked if we could also check-out because she always feels a lot better at the end of class and wants to tell me. When we did a quick check-out, everyone was either a ten or very close to, compared to the beginning when everyone had low numbers. I think it was a really sweet suggestion, and it’s really nice to see every student walk out happier than they’ve come in. I adore this class.” Miss Milly, Bulimba Superstars
