St Lucia Masterclass is held for children in Year 3 to Year 6 in the Bazil Grumble Studio on the lower level of the St Lucia Uniting Church on Wednesdays from 3:15pm to 4:30pm. Term Three runs from 15 July 2026 to 16 September 2026 (nine weeks). Classes are not held on public holidays or pupil free days.
During Term 3, young performers will step into the shoes of unforgettable characters and bringing playful rhymes to life through drama games, improvisation, voice and movement. From balancing mischief and mayhem with the Cat in the Hat to discovering that “a person’s a person, no matter how small” with Horton, students will learn valuable lessons about empathy, resilience and self-expression. Like Sam-I-Am, they will be encouraged to try new things with courage and curiosity, building confidence, communication, interaction and imagination along the way.
As students read, perform and respond to Seuss texts, they will discover the joy of storytelling and the power of bringing books to life on stage. Inspired by Dr. Seuss’s famous words, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go,” students will use books as a springboard for creativity, while developing their performance skills.
Drama Teachers will meet students from Ironside State School, 2 Hawken Dr, St Lucia inside the gate near the tennis courts by 3:10pm. At the end of class parents / guardians will pick up from the Church Hall. Otherwise, students will be escorted back to Ironside State School and signed back into after-school care no later than 4:45pm.
